Across three days, participants attended expert lectures and hands-on sessions led by distinguished scientists from institutions across India. Topics ranged from molecular phylogeny, fungal taxonomy, and herbarium preparation to digital tools for species documentation, MALDI-TOF applications, and advances in biodiversity research. The programme also featured a field visit to the Foundation for Revitalization of Local Health Traditions (FRLHT), where attendees explored extensive herbarium collections and medicinal plant diversity.
Reflecting on the workshop’s impact, Dr S. A. Sheshadri remarked that the programme helped participants bring together traditional taxonomic practices with modern molecular and digital tools, strengthening their confidence and capability in conducting research and identifying species. The event concluded with highly positive feedback and also paved the way for a new academic collaboration between JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) and FRLHT.
Bengaluru, 22 December 2025: JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), through its School of Computer Science and Information Technology (SCSIT), organised a one-day expert interaction session titled “Indian Diaspora: Exploring Research Collaboration & Academic Partnership” on 22 December 2025 at the University’s Jayanagar campus. The event brought together faculty members, alumni, and selected undergraduate and postgraduate students for an in-depth academic engagement on emerging trends and research directions in Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The session was conducted as part of the University’s capacity-building initiatives. It featured Dr Gopal Gupta, Professor at the University of Texas at Dallas, USA, and a globally recognised academician and AI researcher. The programme aimed to bridge theoretical foundations with real-world AI applications while fostering a culture of interdisciplinary research, innovation, and academic collaboration.
The event commenced with a welcome address by Dr Sagar Gulati, Director, School of Computer Science and Information Technology, who formally introduced Dr Gupta and highlighted the University’s commitment to strengthening global academic linkages. Dr Gupta subsequently delivered an expert lecture titled “AI – The Road Forward”, offering a comprehensive overview of the evolving AI landscape.
Key highlights of the session included a clear distinction between Predictive AI and Generative AI, critical insights into the limitations of machine learning models and large language models such as ChatGPT, and discussions on autonomous systems and emerging AI-driven applications. Dr Gupta also provided an in-depth exposition on Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI), addressing their future potential, associated challenges, and ethical considerations.
In addition to the keynote address, the session featured faculty research presentations in advanced AI applications, particularly in healthcare and clinical decision-making. Research projects on explainable AI, AI-guided obstetric ultrasound diagnostics, and deep vision techniques for digital pathology were presented, underscoring the University’s growing research focus in applied and interdisciplinary domains. Alumni and selected BCA and MCA students also showcased innovative projects and entrepreneurial ideas, contributing to a dynamic and participatory academic exchange.
Dr Gupta emphasised the importance of continuous learning and adaptability in the AI era, noting that the rapid evolution of AI technologies would drive job creation, productivity gains, and innovation, rather than displacement.
The session concluded with an overview of the University’s Academic Ecosystem in Action, highlighting curriculum design, pedagogy, governance, and research integration within the Faculty of Applied Computing. Participant feedback indicated a high level of engagement and appreciation for the balanced discussion of AI’s opportunities and limitations.

Bengaluru, 19 December 2025: The Centre of Management Development and Consultancy (CMDC), JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), successfully organised a three-day “Collaborative Knowledge Enhancement – Train-the-Trainer (TTT) Programme” for Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), held from 17 to 19 December 2025 in Bengaluru.
The programme was designed to strengthen BIAL’s internal training capabilities through a structured and immersive learning engagement. It was formally inaugurated in the august presence of Ms Nalini George, Chief Human Resources Officer, BIAL; Mr Satya Subramanian, Assistant Vice President, BIAL; and Ms Bindu Sanyasi, Deputy General Manager – Learning & Development, BIAL, along with other senior officials. Representing JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) were Dr Jitendra Kumar Mishra, Vice-Chancellor (i/c) & Registrar; Ms Preethi Bhandary, Chief Manager – Placement & Corporate Relations; and Mr Venkatesan A.B., Head – Operations, CMDC, who collectively set a strong and purposeful tone for the programme.
Over the course of three intensive days, participants underwent comprehensive training covering key aspects of adult learning principles, instructional design, facilitation and delivery techniques, participant engagement strategies, assessment methodologies, and feedback mechanisms. The programme was anchored by a robust training framework developed by CMDC, which was actively applied through practical exercises, collaborative group discussions, and hands-on facilitation practice sessions.
The programme concluded on 19 December 2025 with a valedictory and certificate-awarding ceremony, graced by Mr Lakshminarayan S, Advisor to the Managing Director, BIAL; Mr Sridhar L, Vice President – ESG, BIAL; and Dr Jitendra Kumar Mishra, Vice-Chancellor (i/c) & Registrar, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). Participants received Train-the-Trainer (TTT) Certificates in recognition of their active engagement and successful completion of the programme.
The successful completion of this programme reinforces the growing partnership between JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) and Bangalore International Airport Limited. It sets the foundation for future collaborative learning and leadership development initiatives.

JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) and SoDMCA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Eonten Studios. The signing ceremony took place at the SoDMCA campus in the presence of Mr. Subramaniam Venkat, co-founder of Eonten Studios, Dr. Jitendra Kumar Mishra, Registrar, Mr. Sathish Narayanan, CEO, Dr. Suman, and Mr. Varunan from JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). This collaboration stands as a testament to their shared vision.
The primary objective of this MOU is to bridge the gap between industry and academia, creating a dynamic learning environment beyond traditional classrooms. Numerous projects are slated to be undertaken as part of this collaboration, including the incubation of a studio and the development of specialized courses for both students and faculty.
JAIN (Deemed to be University) conducted its 12th convocation for the academic year 2022. A community of 6629 students were a part of the convocation, out of which 125 students were presented with gold medals and 329 rank holders were honoured by the University.
